Privacy Notice

This notice explains what SoundGum knows about you, why it is needed, and the choices you have.

Who controls your data

REPLACE_ME is responsible for the personal data described here. Privacy questions and rights requests can be sent to privacy@viberain.com or by post to REPLACE_ME.

What we collect

  • Your first name, age range, gender choice, and general area.
  • Moments, join messages, meeting points, and safety reports.
  • A hashed anonymous session token and a protected hash of network information used for security and rate limiting.
  • A phone number only when you choose to share it with an accepted meetup connection.
  • Records that you confirmed you are 18+ and accepted the current Terms and Privacy Notice.
  • Limited, rotated operational logs containing timestamps, routes, response status and random request identifiers. We do not place meetup messages, phone numbers, cookies, authorization values, or request bodies in application logs.

Why we use it

We use this information to provide nearby activity coordination, operate the service, prevent abuse, enforce our rules, handle safety concerns, and meet legal obligations. Our expected lawful bases are performance of the service contract, legitimate interests in security and safety, and legal obligation where applicable.

Who sees it

Other users see only the profile and moment details needed to decide whether to meet. Phone numbers are shown only to the accepted connection after you actively share them. Infrastructure providers may process data for hosting, security, and database operation. We do not sell personal data.

Essential cookies

SoundGum uses an essential, secure session cookie so the service can remember your anonymous session and protect your profile. It is not used for advertising. If analytics or other optional technologies are introduced, this notice and the consent controls will be updated first.

How long we keep it

  • Shared phone numbers are cleared after 24 hours.
  • Expired anonymous sessions are removed automatically.
  • Old moments are normally removed after 30 days, unless retained with a safety report or where legally necessary.
  • Safety records may be retained longer to investigate abuse, protect users, or comply with law.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to processing. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.

Security and changes

We use access controls, encrypted HTTPS transport, hashed session identifiers, rate limiting, backups, and limited retention. No internet service can promise absolute security. Material changes will be dated here, and renewed acceptance may be required.
